Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in La Liga over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
