Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded on Thursday, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's achievements, the talented cast also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved seven awards throughout the event.
Other notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Outstanding Audio and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and PC Game of the Year. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only 4 awards—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by critics.
