Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five charges include:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
