Selecting the Three Gunners Players to Pick v Wolves? Fantasy Premier League Squad of the Gameweek

The key decision in the Fantasy Premier League team of the week is to go with zero Manchester City assets - and yes, that includes Haaland!

Our funds are required to go all-in on Gunners assets as they welcome one of the worst sides in Premier League history.

Yes, Manchester City scored in 5 times on their last away fixture, but now they take on Crystal Palace, a side with the second-best defensive record in the division for goals allowed and fourth-strongest in relation of xGC.

And the Gunners hosting Wolves is the sort of encounter you must target - the top team in the division against one devoid of form, quality and self-belief.

This squad of the week is selected using current valuations to stay under a £100m limit, as if you were playing a Free Hit.

Performance of The Previous Squad Do?

The captain didn't deliver but strong points from Bruno Fernandes (eighteen), Dias (14), Phil Foden (twelve) and Tarkowski (9), along with a lucky 16-point Dewsbury-Hall bench cameo produced a monster 83 points. Boom!

FPL Team of the Gameweek for Gameweek 16

Goalkeeper & Defenders

Roefs, Sunderland, keeper, £4.7m - Newcastle (h)

The first derby in the Premier League since 2016 is likely to be loud, passionate, feisty - and it could be one of those matches that is full of tension but little clear chances.

Which would render the Sunderland keeper, ranked third in the goalkeeper scoring charts, a good pick.

Ben White, the Gunners, £5.2m - Wolverhampton (home)

An Arsenal defensive asset is a must this week. Wolves have one goal scored on the road this season and a single goal in their past 6 fixtures.

White is a fantastic offensive threat when he gets his opportunity. He started the past two games at right-back, registered a fourteen-point haul against Brentford and tops the way in that period among Arsenal defenders with two key passes, 2 shots in the box and an xGI of 0.7.

Marc Cucurella, Chelsea, £6.2m - the Toffees (h)

Everton are erratic so this pick is focused more on Chelseadefence and Cucurella upside.

Chelsea have the fourth-strongest defensive record while he has created more chances (19) than any other defender in the division.

And he is yet to score yet, having netted five times the previous campaign.

Diogo Dalot, United, £4.4m - Bournemouth (h)

You can't have high expectations for a United shutout - they have one all season - but Bournemouthgoals have slowed down in the past two games.

More importantly, Dalot has been getting in some incredibly advanced roles as a wing-back in the past three games.

In those matches he's had four shots, two big chances, one goal and an assist. He also missed a great opportunity at Wolverhampton on Monday night too.

Midfield Picks

Saka (C), the Gunners, £10.2m - Wolves (home)

This fixture against Wolverhampton is too good to pass up and that renders Bukayo Saka, Arsenaltop attacking player a must-have.

No stats needed to support this pick. United had 27 shots at Wolverhampton on Monday night, netted 4 and might have had twice as many.

The Gunners will be licking their lips.

Declan Rice, Arsenal, £7.1m - Wolverhampton (home)

One point behind Bruno Fernandes in the FPL midfielder standings, Rice is so reliable for the Gunners.

With more license to attack this season, he's generated more opportunities than any other Gunners player (twenty-seven) and has five assists to show for it.

He's also the surest bet for minutes as Mikel Arteta could see this fixture as a chance to rest his squad.

Fernandes, Manchester United, £9m - the Cherries (h)

The Portuguese playmaker might have taken over from Semenyo as the essential Fantasy Premier League midfield asset.

Match-up proof, always a candidate for defensive contribution points and with several routes to FPL returns.

Palmer, the Blues, £10.3m - the Toffees (home)

This gameweek's punt, Palmer has his first full ninety minutes under his belt after a long layoff and we are aware what an high-scoring fantasy player he is capable of being.

You get the feeling that, as quickly as he has one good game, FPL managers will be flocking to sign him up.

He was absent for ChelseaChampions League defeat at Atalanta, but that was the team easing him back carefully so he should be well-rested for Everton.

Ouattara, the Bees, £6m - Leeds United (home)

Leeds come into this game off the back of two great home results against the Blues and the Reds, but on the road they have let in three goals for each one they've netted.

This is probably the winger's final fixture before heading to the AFCON.

He's been outstanding for the Bees this season, and has 5 goal contributions in his last 3 fixtures at home.

Strikers

Thiago, Brentford, £6.9m - Leeds United (home)

It has been a frustrating couple of gameweeks for the striker owners, with just three points in two games.

Nevertheless, he's the second goal scorer in the league and has seven goals in seven home games. He's the best forward option for this round and, with a favourable fixture list, you can set and forget until the January window at the very least.

Hugo Ekitike, the Reds, £8.4m - Brighton & Hove Albion (home)

It is expected that Arne Slot keeps faith with the promising striker, after his brace haul at Leeds United.

He performed well at the beginning of the campaign and you can't help but think what he could have achieved had a rival striker not been signed and competed with him for minutes at centre-forward.
