Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, according to official statements.
This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
