Vince Zampella, Dies in a California Car Crash

The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California at the age of 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The renowned game designer lost his life when his car crashed and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, according to.

"This is a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
